ONE STOP SHOP

For all air management systems.

CLOSE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

With national ventilation companies.

Whilst we offer individual heat recovery and ventilation services, what separates us apart is our ability to provide a one stop shop for all air management systems – be it high end mansions (where privacy is paramount) or large property developments (for national contractors). We enjoy a close working relationship with leading national ventilation company Nuaire, but also install all other major brands such as Itho, Greenwood and Vent Axia.

TRUST IN US

Personal services to the highest standards.

CERTIFICATES & INSURANCES

BPEC accredited commissioning engineers.

Our customers can be assured of a trusting and personal service, carried out to the highest possible standards. All certificates and insurances are in place and all aspects of health and safety are adhered to, plus our commissioning engineers are BPEC accredited which is critical in enhancing SAP calculations – required to commission and certificate ventilation systems to Part F of the Building Regulations for England & Wales 2010.

OUR SERVICES

View our services below or contact us for information on how we may be able to help you.

INSTALLATIONS

At NW Mechanical Services we generally offer no obligation designs and quotations from customer submitted floor plans and room layouts. With our technical team on hand to help with ventilation strategies, compliance, building regulations and environmental issues, system designs are then provided in 3D CAD format along with estimates. Upon customers wishing to proceed with the ordering and installation process, site visits are arranged for technical inspection to confirm design specifications, with products then being delivered to site ready for installation. NW Mechanical Services staff are on hand to help through each part of the installation process, and upon completion our BPEC accredited engineers finish off by commissioning and certificating.

HEAT RECOVERY

Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) includes the supply of fresh heat recovered air into the living areas whilst extracting stale moist air from the wet areas (kitchens, bathrooms, utilities and W/C). Fresh air is pulled in through a heat recovery unit, warmed by exchanged air, and then supplied through valves into the living areas to replace the extracted air. MVHR systems are very energy efficient and not only prevent internal moisture build up (which can lead to mould growth), but also provide excellent on-going internal air quality. All NW Mechanical Services MVHR systems are commissioned by our BPEC accredited engineers to comply with Part F of the Building Regulations for England & Wales 2010.

CENTRAL EXTRACT

Often called Central Extract, Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) is a more cost effective way of ventilating properties than MVHR methods. The process still includes the extraction of moist air using a centrally located extract unit with ducts running to the wet rooms areas (kitchens, bathrooms, utilities and W/C), but the replacement of fresh air comes via more traditional routes, such as trickle vents in windows and walls. Note that even though Mechanical Extract Ventilation is less complicated in design and installation than MVHR, NW Mechanical Services systems are still commissioned by our BPEC accredited engineers to comply with Part F of the Building Regulations for England & Wales 2010.

AIR CONDITIONING

Air Conditioning is used to control the internal temperature of the air within a dwelling through heating and cooling. Systems are generally bespoke in design to suit the requirements of the customer and the properties they are to be installed within. But as with our heat recovery and ventilation systems, NW Mechanical Services in London install using major Air Conditioning brands such as Mitsubishi, Daikin and Toshiba. Note that 3D CAD designs and BPEC accredited commissioning are not a requirement for installing Air Conditioning systems. OUR PROJECTS

Cannon Wharf – Surrey Quays

NW Mechanical Services was contracted by HSE and Barratts London to supply and install BPEC approved Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems at Cannon Wharf – Surrey Quays, one of Barratts flagship developments with 700+ properties planned over a two / three year period. The MVHR systems were specified to help achieve the development’s SAP requirements, with all units supplied by Nuaire. Over the term of the project our on-site engineering team was constantly increased / decreased to comply with the changing programmes and developer requirements.

Wharf Road – Islington

NW Mechanical Services was contracted by HSE and United House to supply and install BPEC approved Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems to 327 apartments throughout four blocks at the Wharf Road – Islington development, to help achieve SAP requirements. Midway through the project a decision was made to alter the layouts for the final two blocks, so our on-site engineering team was decreased whilst new drawings were issued, and then increased to keep up with the accelerated programme thereafter – all to the satisfaction of both the main contractor and M&E contractor.

Royal Arsenal – Woolwich

NW Mechanical Services was contracted by Briar Mechanical and Berkeley Homes to supply and install BPEC approved Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich development. The project consisted of multiple phases which included 127 heat recovery installations for Phase one and 219 heat recovery installations for phase two. As with so many large development projects, our on-site engineering team varied in size depending on requirements and all installations were specified to help achieve developer SAP requirements.
